At the start of this session, my technique felt horrific and on the whole I just wasn't feeling good.
We did wash riding with Pete, I was in the V for the majority and this impacted on my performance, I was very focused on keeping myself in the right position and as a result I had a high rating as I constantly righted myself. After that we did some slow drill/technique work. I did pause paddling and this helped massively. I felt very comfortable after a while and I could feel my technique had improved (although it came and went during the half lap)
It has come to my attention that, like swimming, I require a much larger than normal warmup to become comfortable in my boat. May be part of the explanation for my less than satisfactory races of late (and an explanation for why I bounced back so hard in the second race with Travis at Geelong; I had a 10km warmup).
